Date: 2017-03-08 03:46 pm (UTC)well I probably could but it would be an effort that might not end prettily
is the 3pm time okay with you?

Date: 2017-03-10 12:36 am (UTC)3pm will work just fine, in fact. What and where did you say it was, again?
[Just so she has the directions, and then she'll be there!]

Date: 2017-03-10 02:10 am (UTC)It's called Last Order and it's a decent 24/7 diner that's more famous for the parfait instead of the hamburgers they advertise haha

Date: 2017-03-15 10:11 am (UTC)[When the appointed time rolls around, Minako isn't there in the diner yet. She hurries in about five minutes late, notebooks and files sticking out of her purse.]
Sorry I'm late, ma'am!

Date: 2017-03-17 11:23 pm (UTC)Oh, it's fine, I hardly noticed you were late. The wonders of modern technology. Did you rush here right after class?
no subject
Date: 2017-03-21 12:58 am (UTC)[She slides herself into the seat across from her companion, offering a grin.]
So! Do you wanna pretend we're actually here for normal food or do you want to go straight to the parfait?
no subject
Date: 2017-03-23 10:00 pm (UTC)[Well, it's as simple as that. She's not really holding it against Minako in any meaningful capacity.]
Oh I had a light lunch in case we did want to eat anything, but if those parfaits really are as large as you say, it might be a meal of itself.

Date: 2017-03-24 02:09 pm (UTC)[She waves to the waiter and orders just the one parfait, then folds her hands in front of her to smile at the other woman.]
It takes them forever to scoop out the ice cream for this thing, but it's worth the wait, trust me. The wafers are excellent. It tastes kind of like those fortune cookies you get from Chinese restaurants? But the really good ones that have that hint of vanilla to them.

Date: 2017-03-25 12:13 am (UTC)[She rubs her hands together a couple times to emphasize the point, then relaxes back into the seat. Time for some more speaking to her new acquaintance here.]
Oh yeah? Then I guess I'll have to look forward to that. You're making me hungry already. They have any other kind of special ingredients? I remember every restaurant seemed to have some kind of unique touch to their parfaits back when.

Date: 2017-04-03 01:39 am (UTC)[She gestures to the plastic bottle at the edge of the table, labeled "Chocolate Sauce!" in sharpie, complete with smiley face just below.]
Not required, of course, but why wouldn't you add chocolate sauce onto a parfait, you know? But since it's your first time I'll let you decide.

Date: 2017-04-03 01:42 pm (UTC)... Or maybe I just like chocolate a little too much. I can't tell myself that, though, or I'll eat it too often. [She chuckles to herself.]

Date: 2017-04-04 01:39 am (UTC)I know the feeling! I work at a cupcake bakery so I'm surrounded by temptation with every shift.
I've been good the past couple of months though, I've kept off my cupcake weight~

Date: 2017-04-04 01:28 pm (UTC)I suppose, unless I was a zombie. Then I'd be in the same boat.
[Another little chuckle at the idea. Luckily, she is not a zombie, but a ghost. Different thing, right?]
And that's also why I grow a garden - reminds me to keep eating healthy things every day.

Date: 2017-04-05 03:35 pm (UTC)Oh, a garden! That sounds really nice. One of my best friends is a florist so I get and grow a lot of flowers, but I feel like veggies are a completely different beast. What do you grow?
no subject
Date: 2017-04-09 07:41 pm (UTC)That said, I grow a variety of things. I have a small vegetable garden, but I also have a couple beds and pots for flowers. I like big, brightly colored ones. But I also keep things like carrots and peas. I have a little greenhouse for tomatoes and other things that have a long grow time but don't fare well in the cold of winter, too.
no subject
Date: 2017-04-11 01:00 am (UTC)But that sounds so nice...cooking with fresh ingredients everyday would be amazing. I live in an apartment right now, so there's no place for tomatoes to grow, but there are window box gardens, right? And some herbs that are okay in tiny pots? Do you have any advice on how to grow those?
no subject
Date: 2017-04-21 10:45 pm (UTC)And perhaps not every day. The yield of your crops is a little less than you imagine, compared to how long it takes to grow them, but it is definitely worth it for things like herbs, which you only need to tear a leaf or two off the main stalk in order to flavor something. It's a little different with vegetables and fruits.
Still, I think it's entirely worth it.
But yes, you can definitely get window planetrs. Those would be perfect places for things like herbs, and those you get more utilization out of. And hm... well, all plants are a little different. Some are more difficult than others, some will sprout up with no provocation or help and flourish. It all depends on a few factors... so I guess I could say... it's up to what you want to grow and how much work you're willing to put into them.
no subject
Date: 2017-04-22 08:58 am (UTC)Oh, I don't mind putting a lot of work into them, it's just that my schedule requires more low maintenance stuff...I could definitely start with the herb window planters though!
[The waitress finally comes by with their huge parfait, which makes an audible thunk as it's set down on the table. The spoons are pretty big too. Minako grins and snaps a picture.]
First impressions?
no subject
Date: 2017-04-28 05:36 pm (UTC)I think it would be worth it. And they smell wonderful! You'll find a lot of good information with a quick Google search if and when I'm not around, but I'd be happy to provide tips whenever possible.
[And now that offer's on the table, a more literal thing thunks down on the table.
... It's massive. Sakuya's eyes go a little wide, her eyebrows lifting up. That's... a sizeable amount, there.]
... It's as large as you described it, all right. I'm glad I didn't have anything else to eat. But it looks delicious!
no subject
Date: 2017-04-29 01:05 pm (UTC)[Not like Minako's spoon will even touch any of the parfait on Sakuya's side for a good fifty bites or so. It's essentially a mini wall of ice cream between them.]

Date: 2017-05-08 05:21 pm (UTC)So instead, she takes a few bites, humming approval every time.] It is very good! Well worth the extra calories.
no subject
Date: 2017-05-09 01:21 pm (UTC)Don't think about the calories! Besides, you can always walk them off later. Or do some extra gardening to make up for it.
